Product Details

Basilicata is an area in Italy's south between Puglia (the "heel") and Calabria (the tip of the boot). Mount Vulture is an extinguished volcano on whose sides vines have been grown for thousands of years. The Aglianico grape, on of Italy's great red varietals, is said to owe its name to "hellenicum" and thus the Greeks. This grape has found one of its best territories on Mount Vulture, where the Madonna delle Grazie grows only this grape to make superb wines.

Liscone is the name of their oldest vineyard and it delivers mature, old grapes. The wines named after the vineyard is potent, austere, elegantly tannic, suited for ageing. Lots of black fruits, strong mineral notes from the volcanic soil, the typical savoury notes and slight astringency make it very engaging. A great expression of the Vulture terroir!
