The great enologist and winemaker Sergio Molino inherited a plot in La Morra from his father Ernesto, where he grows Nebbiolo grapes according to his own conviction, that wine must be the expression of the land it stems from. Thus, his agricultural take on growing vines is to do as little as necessary for the grapes to remain healthy. When the first grapes start to ripen, the crop is harvested to make this fresh, easy and always pleasant Nebbiolo, while the other bunches are left on the vine to mature further for the great Barolo Bricco Rocche and the superb Barolo Riserva del Fico.
This Nebbiolo is aged in steel vats, is brilliantly ruby and offers the incredible bouquet of Nebbiolo, with a good but not overwhelming body and is best enjoyed slightly cool. It is the perfect high end "day-to-day win". Suitable for ageing 15 further years.
