Product Details

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most renowned red wines in the world, and over the years many wineries have specialised in making this wine. Thus it is not always easy to find a Brunello, which delivers good value for money. The founder of the Tiezzi winery, Enzo, is well-known in Montalcino as a custodian of the “real” Brunello, following a tradition that dates back to 1870, when one of his ancestors bottled his wine, labelled it “Brunello” and presented it in international wine exhibitions. Needless to say, Brunello being Brunello, it was highly acclaimed and won a number of awards. This is how Brunello di Montalcino’s international fame began.

Tiezzi’s Vigna Soccorso is a historic vineyard. The Sangiovese Grosso (locally also called “Brunello”) grapes are grown with love and care in the “alberello” style (“little trees”). The soil is mainly lime and sand, but contains a lot of minerals and volcanic rocks. The best bunches are selected for this Brunello. They are left to ferment in oak vats for 20 days and aged for at least 44 months in oak barrels of 1000 and 4000 litres capacity.

This wine has typical traits of Brunello: great balance between acidity and tannins, which gives it an elegant body. The nose is rich with maraschino cherry, red berries, black berries, oaky notes and a beautiful scent of coffee. Very complex, and always pleasantly persistent in the palate. A truly great red!
