The Skerk winery is right on the border between Italy and Slovenia, on hilly land overlooking the gulf of Trieste. Here, Mediterranean and continental influences blend into something truly unique, and from these lands stems the local Vitovska variety. Seemingly a subtle white wine, it has a whole world of scents and flavours to offer.
Eric Guido, of Vinous, wrote in 2020 : "The 2018 Vitovska is very pretty, showing notes of musky, young peach, dusty, dried flowers, and almond skins. It is soft and almost savoury in the mouth, turning incredibly floral as well, displaying nuances of green apple, ginger, and salty minerals. This becomes structured and dry through the finale, buzzing with residual tension, yet achingly young".
He recommended to keep it for at least a year - now it has matured nicely!
