100% from old Sangiovese vines, (“Priscus” means old) it offers a pleasant richness of red berries and fruit on what appears to be a rather thin body. This is the first impression.
Natural wines need oxidation. If you leave a bottle of “conventional” wine open overnight, it starts to turn sour. These natural wines are the complete opposite.
On the following day, we drink a powerful, deep, tannic, albeit young Sangiovese, with an abundance of straightforward aromas of fresh red fruit, Mediterranean herbs, chocolate and Middle Eastern spices, without being astringent - as good as the best young Sangiovese gets!
Now, this wine has aged a few years and is perfectly well rounded! A rare pearl!
