Situa Nobilis Podere Casaccia
This is a “passito” from white grapes, mainly Trebbiano and Malvasia. The bunches are left on the vines to dry out. Then, when they taste ready, Roberto crushes them and lets them ferment on the skins for a long time in oak barriques, where they rest for at least one year before bottling.
This wine strikes home right away with notes of honey, caramelised brown sugar, dry apricots and above all, dry dates.
It goes well with our “cantucci” - almond biscuits -, but is probably best with mature cheese, or just on its own, to really appreciate the welcoming aromatic texture. Superb!
