Roero Arneis DOCG 2018 "Il Pedrino" Daniele Dabbene
Daniele Dabbene is a passionate young winemaker, who selects the very best rows of his family's estate in Santa Vittoria d'Alba, part of the Roero range of hills. He then fiercely selects the very best bunches only, with the clear aim to make very high-end wines. He harvests by hand and crushes the bunches softly, then allows for time during fermentation.
Arneis is an ancient autochtonous variety of white grapes, known for its freshness as a ideal summer wine, which is reputed to have found its ideal terroir in the Roero hills. Daniele's Arneis "Il Pedrino" is a more complex version, made by allowing for longer macerations (3 - 4 days) and leaving the wine to rest on the lees for six months. Thus it keeps the typical freshness of Arneis, with hints of bergamot, lime and white flowers, peaches, fine spice, white pepper and rhubarb, on a relevant body, which makes it the perfect match with savoury fish and vegetable risotto dishes or white meat.
