The name "Barrique" clearly tells you that this is no ordinary Chardonnay - indeed, it is rich, but not heavy, complex but not fatty, full but not overly oaky.
Long maceration on the skins (42 hours), fermentation part in steel vats and part in French barriques, and a few months ageing in oak barrels before resting in the bottle give this Chardonnay elegance and body. However, as in all good wines, the perfect balance between body, smokiness, freshness and fruitiness makes this an extremely pleasant, uniquely complex drinking experience, with that typical Piemonte acidity that makes it enjoyable and easy drinking at all times.
Suitable for a few years ageing, this wine matches savoury fish dishes, white meat and tasty pasts dishes, and is the perfect companion of tasty cheeses, also at the end of a meal.
A plus is that all 3000 bottles of the yearly production have an individually, hand painted label!
