Gironia Biferno Rosso Riserva 2010 Borgo di Colloredo
Hills that softly roll towards east, where the blue of the Adriatic sea extends endlessly, a beautiful place. This is the home to two great Italian red grapes, which meet in this rich blend of 80% Montepulciano and 20% Aglianico. A bold, dark and deep red, warm with aromas of sweet spices, vanilla and licorice, and a toasty finish that reveals dark chocolate, with hints of jam and ripe red fruit, black cherry and plum. Soft, round and enveloping with young and slightly rough tannins, it has good body and remains persistent in the mouth. Ageing for 2 years in large barrels and barriques delivers oaky notes and noticeable tannins, which require opening a few hours prior to enjoying. A deep, bold Southern Italian red!
