The Friulano grape in one of it most traditional expressions from the wonderful I Clivi winery.
"The 2019 Friulano San Lorenzo is spicy, yet youthfully reticent, as a bouquet of ground ginger, dusty, dried flowers and crushed rocks form in the glass. It is deeply textural with a buzzing of acid and mineral tension to balance, as notes of pear and pretty enough florals form toward the close. The San Lorenzo closes amazingly fresh, yet a bit short, leaving a tinge of bitter citrus to linger. This hails hails from 80-year-old vines that grow in marl and sandstone soils" (Eric Guido, Vinous).
We would like to add that after a few years ageing in the bottles, this is developing wonderfully and becoming perfectly integrated and rounded, delivering the full spectrum of Friulano's unique character.
