Colli di Luni DOC Vermentino 2020 "Maneterra"
Colli di Luni Vermentino Maneterra: how enjoyable can a wine made from “mane” – the hands – and “terra” – the soil be? No chemicals are used in the 5200 bottles produced of this “boutique” wine from the area bordering Tuscany, but still in Liguria, around the ancient city of Luni. Here, the mountains rise out of the sea and the grapes receive the sea’s saltiness from the wind. This alone makes it stand out!
Vermentino is a native white, aromatic grape, much liked also in Corsica and Sardinia.
Faint but bright, shiny straw yellow color. The aromas are sharp and elegant on notes of citrus and herbs. Almonds, white peaches, a little flint stone and flowers to the nose, saltiness and rocky notes to the palate, this wine is fresh and really enjoyable, dynamic and with a captavting finish… so that one sip pulls the next.
Dinner for two? Best put 2 bottles on ice...
