Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2021 T "Zojosu" enuta Masone Mannu
Zojosu - the joyful - is a telling name about the easy pleasantness of this well-rounded, youthfully fresh Cannonau (aka Grenache) from the granite soils of Northern Sardinia. Dark ruby with garnet reflections, lively, slightly translucent, Zojosu expresses aromas of carnation, cherry, plum, and balsamic hints of Mediterranean vegetation. In the mouth, it is dry, full-bodied and rather soft. Mineral freshness and pleasant saltiness, subtle, yet vibrant tannins support it on the palate where it stays for a pleasantly long time.
It is not the "traditional" dark and gloomy Cannonau, but a younger, fresher version, that you can enjoy as an opening to heavier dishes or slightly cooled as an aperitif, with some Sardinian sheep cheese and cold cuts.
