Cantine Lonardo's“grecomusc” (read “grekomoosh”) is a rare, almost unique white wine from the soils of extinguished volacano Taurasi. The name means means more or less “limping greco”. This name is due to the grape resembling the “greco” grape, but with such a disproportionately thick skin, that the grapes seem to be “limping” on one side.
Intense and persistent with clear mineral hints flanked by yellow flowers, peaches in syrup and vanilla to the nose,on the palate, it is dry with great intensity and good persistence, warm and savoury with a good acidic consistency that makes it pleasant to drink and long-lived over time.
If well preserved, it renders the greatest expressiveness of its "terroir" wine character at least two or more years after harvesting. A very unique wine indeed of a total annual production of 2500 bottles/ year.
