Bramaterra 2016 Monti Perini
Few wines reflect the essence of these hills as well as Monti Perini’s Bramaterra. The volcanic soil, which is so poor, rocky, sandy and mineral, with acidic pH and noticeable thermal excursion due to the cold air that descends from the Monte Rosa massif and offsets the heat rising up from the plains, can be found in this crisp, fresh and complex wine, full of delicate spices and aromas, ranging from viola to nutmeg, raspberry to overripe plums, while in the background the rocks and minerals of red porphyry add strength, rustic depth and notes of blonde tobacco.
In the blend, the lightness of Uva Rara and the fruitiness of Croatina add colour and playfulness to the profoundness and complexity of Nebbiolo. Really, a very pretty wine and much more!
